About Korica.

Korica is Zagreb’s first artisan bakery, and for over ten years we’ve been baking Real Bread®. To us, Real Bread® means bread untouched by additives — made only with flour, water, yeast, salt… and time. We bake it using traditional ingredients, time-honored methods, and skilled hands — and nothing more.

From Zagreb’s first sourdough and traditional baguette to our original almond croissant, the first cruffin, cinnamon roll, babka, and Japanese milk bread — we’ve always been committed to offering real, pure, and honest baked goods of the highest quality.

Bread

We believe time is the most important ingredient in any good bread. Our bread ferments slowly – up to 48 hours – because that’s the only way to develop full flavor, better digestibility, and that signature texture. No rush, no shortcuts. Hand-mixed, naturally leavened, and baked with the idea that every slice should offer more than just taste – it should slow you down, nourish you, and remind you how good simple can be.

From the first sourdough loaf in Zagreb and the true traditional baguette to Japanese milk bread, we’re committed to helping our customers discover what real bread® truly means.

  • 100% handmade
  • Up to 48 hours of natural fermentation

Pastries

Our flaky and sweet pastries – inspired by the French viennoiserie tradition – are made by hand, with real butter and plenty of patience.

Our croissant was the first true, handmade croissant in Zagreb – layered, buttery, crisp, just as it should be. Alongside classics like babka, we're always looking for new ways to surprise – like our baklava knot, where flaky dough meets honey-walnut richness.

  • Real butter, real layers
  • Handmade with French tradition

Sandwiches & savory

Our sandwiches and savory pastries are crafted as serious food in a simple form – perfect for breakfast, a break, or a light lunch that doesn’t settle for less.

Baguette with ham and butter, or with prosciutto, warm focaccia with mozzarella, and the first Croque Monsieur in Zagreb – true French comfort food. Our quiches with feta and tomato, leek and pancetta, morning pies, and strecci with tomatoes and Grana Padano are a simple, delicious bite for those who love things uncomplicated – but done right.

Everything is made in our own kitchen, with the same care and no-shortcut approach we take to bread: full attention and top-quality ingredients.

  • Sandwiches with no compromise on flavor
  • Savory pastries with character

Sweet bites

Our sweet bites are inspired by classics – prepared simply, just the way they should be. No over-the-top decoration, just full flavor.

We introduced Zagreb to its first cruffin – a croissant-muffin hybrid filled with flavors that change with the seasons and our mood.

Our marble loaf is a well-loved favorite, known for its simplicity and nostalgic, homemade feel. Carrot cake is for those who like dessert with character, but not too much fuss. Banana bread, lemon poppy seed loaf, Baileys cake, and other sweet bites don’t try to be more than they are – but they are the best version of themselves.

With every slice, we want to show that simple doesn’t mean boring – it means genuinely good.

  • Simple desserts, full of flavor
  • Cruffin & familiar favorites

A true gem for pasteries and coffee lovers

Korica is such a fantastic find! We had breakfast inside and tried a few delicious things.

The morning pie with eggs was tasty, though a bit dry.

The mini babka with chocolate was to die for — super rich in flavor and so huge we had to share it!

My friend had a baguette with ham, which was nice as well.

Huge recommendations from me — I had a hard time deciding what to try because everything looked so good!

I was only in Zagreb for a short time but made sure to visit this bakery twice – that’s how good it is! The staff are kind, speak English, and the pastries are absolutely amazing. Yes, the prices are on the higher side, but they’re definitely worth it.

Since the place is usually quite busy, I’d recommend going in the morning if you want to avoid the crowd. I also appreciated that they offer free water for everyone.

And whatever you do, don’t miss the cinnamon bun!

Really like this coffee. The pastry options are all amazing, the coffee is also very good and I really like the ambiance and decoration of this place. I stayed in Zagreb a few days and had my coffee here every day

A true gem for pastry lovers

I just had to come back to Korica to try more of their amazing sweet pastries — and wow, they did not disappoint!

The baklava pastry was incredible, with a fantastic blend of flavors.

The vanilla cruffin might be one of the best pastries I’ve ever had — rich, flavorful filling with plenty of it, perfect dough, and a pistachio crunch on top that gave just the right kick.

The staff were really nice and helped me choose what to get, which made the experience even better.

If you love pastries, Korica is a must-visit!

This location is smaller than the others but it has a great grab and go concept and a few comfortable seats to drink a quick coffee. Very sweet staff members during multiple visits.

Korica has good quality baked goods and pastries, I would recommend the Shokupan for a unique bread in Zagreb.

Great laminated dough french pastries- had the chocolate croissant and something where the croissant was baked in a popover cup like a mushroom and filled with vanilla custard and topped with crystal sugar. The pastries were very fresh and service was kind and helpful in Engleski. For the comment about the freshness, like most bakeries, pastries prepared once daily in morning… why would they be kept warm all day? I came in about 4pm on a weekday and was happy to get fresh, crisp well done pastries at a modern place.

Definitely different than other places. A little more expensive, but unique and great food options. Have been here twice, and both was great. It was also open at 7AM, so that was another great thing.

Korica never disappoints — their sourdough bread is amazing, and the pastries are always fresh and delicious

Korica is a fantastic spot for breakfast in Zagreb! The food is absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and well-prepared dishes that hit the spot. The pastries are especially worth mentioning—they’re flaky, flavorful, and pair perfectly with their coffee.

However, one small issue is that during the colder months, the cups tend to be cold, which causes the coffee to cool down quickly. It’s a minor inconvenience, but it would be great if they could address it. That said, the quality of the food and the cozy atmosphere more than make up for it. A solid 4 stars!

Nice little cafe that's relatively close to the old town, and has pretty reasonable prices. The place is small, so don't expect to spend too long here. The food was pretty good, coffee's are relatively small but well made!

I love to stop by for almond croissant. Very delicious when freshly made. Pastry tend to be dry here. Current service doesn’t enjoy tourists but there is a sign Tips very much appreciated. I find it funny! Cute interior. They have good coffee, and some additional cute products like jams.

It is one of the best bakeries in town, and it use to be one of my favourites, however i fell like the quality is dropping with the expansion to new locations, while the prices have grown substantially. Still their products are really good, even if its just plan bread or cronut desert it deserves the attention. I would avoid the croissants, not worth the bang for the buck. At this particular branch the staff is really great and pleasant.
